The Murree Expressway extension to Muzaffarabad will provide international-standard travel facilities, while the MNJC Motorway is set to serve as an alternative to the Karakoram Highway, enhancing strategic connectivity with China.

In Punjab and Sindh, the Sialkot-Kharian-Rawalpindi Highway will reduce travel time between Islamabad and Lahore by 100 kilometres. The M-10 and Lyari Expressway in Karachi continue to streamline freight trade from Karachi Port.

The Minister also announced that construction of the ‘Guru Nanak Expressway’ is underway, connecting Kartarpur and Nankana Sahib to promote religious tourism and interfaith harmony for the global Sikh community.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, infrastructure work on tourist routes is progressing, while the N-25 highway is targeted for completion next year. In Balochistan, M-8 motorway projects will significantly bolster regional connectivity and cross-border trade with Iran.

Abdul Aleem Khan paid tribute to the sacrifices of fallen heroes, particularly 59 brave officers from the Motorway Police, praising them as a role model for the nation.

To safeguard patrolling officers, modern police stations, dedicated parking facilities, and emergency ambulance services are being established in proximity to toll plazas.

Highlighting the financial self-reliance of the National Highway Authority (NHA), Abdul Aleem Khan noted that NHA revenue has doubled from PKR 66 billion in 2024 to over PKR 127 billion in 2026, enabling expansion using indigenous resources.

The Minister emphasized the importance of these projects for national connectivity and economic growth, underscoring Pakistan’s financial independence.
