Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif inaugurated a one-kilometer-long flyover in Adalat Garha area, Sialkot, on Saturday. The project, completed at a cost of Rs. 1.984 billion, is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and enhance travel for residents of the city and its surrounding areas.
Speaking to reporters, Asif highlighted that the flyover would eventually link with the Ring Road, thereby improving traffic flow across Sialkot. He also announced that work on the first phase of the Sialkot Ring Road will begin soon, connecting Wazirabad Road, Daska Road, Eminabad Road, and Pasrur Road.
The minister emphasized the importance of this infrastructure project in supporting industrial growth and improving access to Sialkot International Airport. He thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for ensuring its completion and described it as a long-standing public demand.
In addition to these announcements, Khawaja Asif also mentioned that the Rs. 250 billion Kharian-Rawat Motorway project has been awarded to the Frontier Works Organization (FWO). He stated that this major infrastructure project will strengthen regional economic development and national defense.
