The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved an increase in the House Requisition Allowance for employees serving in the Civil Secretariat, Chief Minister’s Secretariat and Governor’s Secretariat from BPS-03 to BPS-22. The enhancement was approved by the provincial cabinet during its meeting on June 19, 2026, and has been officially notified by the Finance Department.

Under the revised structure, employees will receive a monthly House Requisition Allowance based on their pay scale: from Rs. 6,000 for BPS-03 to BPS-06, increasing up to Rs. 52,000 for BPS-22. The new rates are expected to significantly benefit over 18,000 eligible employees across the three secretariats.

The Finance Department has instructed relevant authorities to implement these new rates from July 1, 2026, ensuring that all affected staff will see their allowances adjusted accordingly. This move is part of a broader effort by the provincial government to improve the living conditions and welfare of its employees.

In a statement released after the cabinet meeting, the Finance Department highlighted the importance of this decision in enhancing the quality of life for civil servants. The department emphasized that these revised allowances are aimed at providing better housing support and ensuring that staff can meet their daily needs more comfortably.

The new allowance structure is as follows: BPS-03 to BPS-06 will receive Rs. 6,000; BPS-07 to BPS-10, Rs. 9,000; BPS-11 to BPS-13, Rs. 13,000; BPS-14 to BPS-15, Rs. 16,000; BPS-16, Rs. 18,000; BPS-17 to BPS-18, Rs. 21,000; BPS-19, Rs. 28,000; BPS-20, Rs. 35,000; and BPS-21 and BPS-22 will receive Rs. 42,000 and Rs. 52,000 respectively.

The implementation of these new rates is expected to have a positive impact on the morale and job satisfaction of civil servants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The provincial government has assured that all necessary steps will be taken to ensure smooth transition and timely payment of the revised allowances.
