Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir has arrived in Turkiye for a two-day official visit, state media reported. The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral defence ties and discussing regional security dynamics.

According to security sources cited by state-run Radio Pakistan, CDF Munir received a warm welcome upon his arrival. During the visit, he will hold important meetings with Turkish military and political leadership, focusing on enhancing cooperation between the two countries' armed forces.

Last month, General Metin Tokel, commander of the Turkish Land Forces, met with CDF Munir during his visit to Pakistan. The meeting covered regional security dynamics and potential avenues for enhanced bilateral defence cooperation, as reported by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

General Tokel also met with the naval and air chiefs during his visit, underscoring the comprehensive nature of the discussions between the two countries' military leadership.

The visit comes in the wake of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's recent trip to Turkiye, which focused on economic and trade cooperation. This latest diplomatic engagement highlights the growing importance of defence collaboration in bilateral relations.

State-run Pakistan TV and APP have reported CDF Munir’s arrival and his expected meetings with Turkish military and political leaders, indicating a high level of interest from both sides in deepening their strategic partnership.
