In his statement, Sharif acknowledged the patriotic efforts of overseas Pakistanis, emphasizing their role in boosting the national economy through remittances. The prime minister highlighted that this figure is a testament to the strong bond between the country and its expatriate community.

The government's focus on improving tax collection and transparency was further underscored by the participation of Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman in the annual PRA strategic conference under the leadership of Punjab’s highest-ranking official, Mirium Nawaz Sharif. The minister announced a zero-tolerance policy against tax evasion as part of comprehensive digital reforms.

During the fiscal year 2025-26, the Pakistan Revenue Authority (PRA) recorded an additional Rs97 billion in tax collections compared to the previous year, showcasing record-breaking efficiency. Chairman PRA, Mumtaz Aslam Sipra, expressed determination to enhance transparency and implement further reforms through digital systems.

The government’s efforts are part of a broader strategy aimed at modernizing the tax system and ensuring greater accountability. These initiatives are expected to bolster economic growth and improve fiscal discipline in Punjab province.
