The Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) has launched its Internship Cohort 2026, aiming to support the country's trillion-dollar economy vision. The program welcomed 140 interns from 62 universities across Pakistan and abroad for research and policy training.

According to PIDE’s official statement, this initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance young professionals' skills and contribute to the development of Pakistan's economy through informed policy-making.

Simultaneously, an agreement was signed between PLAK (Punjab Administration for Language, Art, and Culture) and AJoka Theatre Workshop 2026. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to foster creative abilities among young individuals and promote standardized theatre practices in Pakistan.

Director General of PLAK, Muhammad Aslam Shahid, stated that the collaboration will play a crucial role in nurturing young artists who can contribute meaningfully to the cultural landscape of Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of practical training for these aspiring performers.

AJoka Theatre Workshop’s Executive Director, Shahid Mahmood Nadeem, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the joint effort as a significant step towards ensuring that theatre practices in Pakistan meet international standards and are sustainable.

Both organizations believe that such collaborative efforts will not only enhance the creative sector but also contribute to the overall economic growth of the country by promoting cultural activities that can attract tourism and investment.
