The 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women is a significant platform for member states to address critical challenges facing women across the region. The meeting between Tarar and Al Khalil underscores the collaborative efforts of member countries towards achieving gender equality and social justice.

Tarar stated, 'Our discussions focused on strategies to empower women and promote their participation in various sectors.' He added, 'Pakistan is committed to working with other OIC members to ensure that our policies align with international standards.'

Dr Maimoonah Al Khalil expressed her satisfaction with the meeting, saying, 'We believe that through such collaborative efforts, we can make substantial progress towards achieving our common goals.' She highlighted Saudi Arabia’s initiatives in promoting women's rights and family welfare.

The OIC Ministerial Conference on Women is scheduled to take place from July 12-13. The event aims to bring together government officials, civil society representatives, and experts to discuss key issues affecting women in the region.

In a separate development, Islamabad will host the 17th Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC on December 18, 2021. The session is expected to address various regional and global challenges facing member states.

The meetings and conferences highlight Pakistan's active engagement in promoting women’s rights and family affairs within the broader context of the OIC. Tarar emphasized that these discussions are crucial for fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.
