Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, will travel to Shanghai for a significant diplomatic visit from 16 to 17 July 2026. The visit is part of an invitation extended by Wang Yi, the Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister of China.

During his stay in Shanghai, Senator Dar will participate in the signing ceremony for the establishment of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO) on 17 July. He will also sign the Agreement on behalf of Pakistan as a Founding Member, marking an important step in international cooperation in artificial intelligence.

The Deputy Prime Minister’s participation extends beyond the signing event; he is scheduled to attend the Opening Ceremony of the WAIC and the High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance. In addition to official engagements, Senator Dar will hold bilateral meetings with Wang Yi, China’s Foreign Minister, as well as other counterparts.
