The Netherlands has withdrawn from the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest due to sensitivities regarding the participation of Israel. NPO, the Dutch public broadcaster, announced the decision to forgo the 2027 event despite having pledged to return to the competition last month.

Jurre Bosman stated that Israel's involvement in the contest elicits various reactions in society and causes discussion and division. Jet de Ranitz explained that while there was initial support to return, the broadcaster was unable to find a suitable format for the 2027 contest.

The broadcaster concluded that it is currently too early to participate because of the sensitivities surrounding the themes currently at play. The Eurovision Song Contest will still be aired in the Netherlands.

Ireland will not take part in 2027, while the head of the Spanish public broadcaster is in favour of a boycott. The Czech public broadcaster pulled out of the contest, citing spending cuts as the reason for its withdrawal.

Organisers of Eurovision announced an exclusion of any country involved in an armed conflict from hosting the competition. The 2027 contest is scheduled to take place in Burgas, Bulgaria, on 15 May 2027.

Dara won the contest in Vienna this year with the track Bangaranga. The Netherlands and four other countries boycotted the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest.

Avrotros pulled out of the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest. The Netherlands, Iceland, Spain, Ireland and Slovenia boycotted the 2026 contest.
