Both ministers highlighted the importance of peace and stability in the region, with Jam Kamal appreciating Qatar's efforts and Al Sayed acknowledging Pakistan's contributions.

The two ministers explored how the Belt and Road Initiative could support new trade routes, including potential links from Pakistan and Qatar toward Turkey and onward to Europe. They also reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral trade and exploring new areas of economic cooperation.

In separate meetings, Jam Kamal also discussed trade and economic ties with Sri Lanka’s Trade Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe. They explored the use of Pakistan’s Free Trade Agreement with Sri Lanka and discussed connectivity, infrastructure, food security, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. Both countries thanked each other for supporting improved market access for their respective exports.

Pakistan’s Commerce Minister also met with Bangladesh’s Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir, agreeing to strengthen economic cooperation and explore opportunities to diversify bilateral trade. Rice exports and textiles were identified as areas with potential for increased trade.

Additionally, Jam Kamal met with the International Organization for Mediation Secretary-General Teresa Chan to discuss the organization’s role in resolving disputes involving governments and private organizations. Pakistan, as a founding and contracting member, highlighted its commitment to the organization’s mission.

These meetings underscore Pakistan’s efforts to expand its trade networks and enhance economic cooperation with regional partners, leveraging the potential of the Belt and Road Initiative and other regional initiatives.
