Pakistan has taken a significant step towards trusted digital trade by integrating its Pakistan Single Window (PSW) with Hong Kong’s ValidAP, a blockchain-based digital document verification platform.

The integration, which became operational on 25 September 2026, enables electronic trade documents issued through PSW to be independently verified for authenticity and integrity using cryptographic technology.

According to a statement, this initiative follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Pakistan Customs and the Customs and Excise Department of Hong Kong on 18 May 2026, formalising Pakistan’s participation in ValidAP.

Pakistan is the first country to join the platform, making it a trailblazer in the region’s digital trade landscape.

ValidAP uses cryptographic technology to create a unique digital fingerprint, or ‘hash’, of an electronic trade document, allowing authorities to verify its authenticity without transmitting or storing the document or its sensitive information.

The integration represents a further step towards a digital trade environment in which documents can be issued electronically, verified digitally, and trusted across borders.

This move can help reduce reliance on paper-based verification and support faster and more secure processing of international trade documentation.

For Pakistan, the integration with ValidAP connects its digital trade infrastructure with an emerging regional approach to trusted electronic document verification.
