Insurance companies in Pakistan disbursed over 1 million claims worth Rs. 542 billion in 2025, according to data released by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).

The SECP detailed the claims across major categories, with life insurance companies paying Rs. 410 billion, including more than 33,000 claims related to deaths.

Non-life insurance companies paid Rs. 132 billion, with over 720,000 health and accident claims and 282,000 motor insurance claims settled.

The insurance industry’s total premium increased by 15 percent to Rs. 778 billion, while its assets reached Rs. 4.1 trillion.

Digital channels contributed significantly, with premiums generated through these channels increasing by 71 percent during the year.

SECP Chairman Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu stated that publishing detailed claims data would improve accountability in the insurance industry.

He emphasized the importance of timely claim payments for maintaining policyholders’ confidence in insurance companies.

The data also showed that insurance companies settled around 11,000 claims related to fire and property during the year.
