Huawei has officially launched the Pura X View, a wide-screen smartphone that marks a significant milestone in the tech industry. The device is set to be pre-ordered starting September 9, with pricing details now confirmed.
The Pura X View is priced at approximately $893 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model, with the 512GB version costing around $1,042 and the 12GB RAM and 1TB model priced at approximately $1,266.
Designed to provide more viewing space for videos, books, games, and documents, the Pura X View features a 6.39-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2232 × 1320 pixels and an unusual 16:9.5 aspect ratio. The display boasts a peak brightness of up to 6,500 nits and supports 2160Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye strain.
The phone measures 6.68mm thick and weighs 201g, coming in four colors: Shadow Red, Linen Gray, Zero White, and Phantom Black. Huawei has reduced the bezels to just 1.05mm on all four sides, making the screen appear even wider.
Under the hood, the Pura X View is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 9030S chipset, paired with a full-area vapor chamber cooling system and a ring-type gain antenna to manage heat during extended use. It runs HarmonyOS 7 out of the box, introducing a new Huawei Share remote sending feature that allows users to send photos, videos, documents, and compressed files to contacts even when they are not nearby.
The camera system includes a 200MP RYYB main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and an f/1.8 aperture, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, a 112-degree ultrawide camera, and a Red Maple primary color sensor. Camera features include AI pose suggestions and 3D dynamic photos for additional shooting options.
Powering the device is a 7,000mAh silicon-anode battery, which also features a four-microphone system for calls and voice commands. Huawei is selling two official cases: a vegan leather magnetic case costing about $19 and a pen box-style case designed to carry a stylus, priced at approximately $70.
Early buyers will receive five purchase gifts, while eligible students can get discounts worth up to approximately $141. Pre-orders for the Pura X View will begin on September 9, marking a significant step in the evolution of smartphone technology.
