The officials reviewed current SPU deployments, security directives, and check post procedures, emphasizing the need for stronger coordination, advance notification, and verification of Chinese nationals' movements across Gilgit, Skardu, Diamer, and other areas.

IGP Dr Akbar Nasir Khan ordered a fresh district-level threat assessment, identification of security requirements, and the removal of any shortcomings within a specified timeframe.

He directed the implementation of security procedures issued by the National Counter Terrorism Authority, re-verification of residential no-objection certificates (NOC), and security audits of approved locations.

The IGP also called for maintaining comprehensive records at the district level, ensuring compliance with NOC conditions, and monitoring the movements of foreign nationals, especially during nighttime.

He warned that negligence in ensuring the safety of foreign nationals, particularly Chinese citizens, would not be tolerated, emphasizing the importance of strict adherence to legal requirements, including driving licences.
