Amidst growing concerns over security threats from an increasingly aggressive India, experts at a recent conference emphasized the importance of diplomacy and adoption of new war technologies in Pakistan. The Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) hosted ‘Strategic Stability, Emerging Threats and Role of Diplomacy’ where prominent figures like Quaid-e-Azam University Vice Chancellor Dr Zafar Nawaz Jaspal shared insights on the role of diplomacy in maintaining strategic stability. He highlighted that Pakistan has played a significant part in this regard.
The gathering, which included academicians, military and war experts discussed how technological advanceneration can deter security threats while fostering peace in South Asia. The importance of diplomacy was also reiterated as an essential tool to mitigate tensions that could escalate into conflicts.
Experts agreed on the need for Pakistan and India, both nuclear-armed states with a history of strained relations due to territorial disputes like Kashmir, to engage constructively. The conference concluded with commitments towards peaceful resolutions despite geopolitical tensions.
