Color accuracy is another key feature, with the display covering 1.24 times the P3 color gamut and receiving individual calibration before shipping. According to the company, color uniformity has improved by 39.6%, and brightness uniformity is up by 22.3% compared to the previous generation. iQOO has also implemented its own color and brightness compensation system to calibrate the display at the sub-pixel level, aiming for color accuracy of ±0.001.

For gaming enthusiasts, the iQOO 16 introduces a new touch chip that supports up to 5000Hz instantaneous touch sampling and 500Hz multi-finger touch sampling. This technology is designed to reduce the delay between touch input and the resulting action on screen, enhancing the gaming experience.

The phone also features a 100% first-frame brightness ratio, which iQOO claims is an industry high. Additionally, the display includes full-area ambient light sensing using three photosensitive sensors, an unpolarized natural-light display, and full-brightness DC dimming. The panel supports PWM dimming at up to 3300Hz and includes a gaming glare-protection mode.

The iQOO 16 is expected to position its display as a key selling point, especially for mobile gaming, with its combination of 2K resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, high touch response, and Samsung’s latest OLED materials. This advancement is likely to attract tech-savvy consumers and gaming enthusiasts who demand the best in visual and tactile experiences.

The partnership between iQOO and Samsung, including a custom high-refresh-rate display IC and a dedicated production line for iQOO flagship devices, underscores the commitment to innovation and quality in the smartphone industry.
