The minister emphasized that specialists from anywhere in the world can now contribute to patient care through telemedicine, expanding the reach of medical services.

Highlighting the government’s achievements in the health sector, Kamal stated that the progress made in telemedicine over the past 14 months surpasses that of the previous 30 years.

He warned about the prevalence of hepatitis C in Pakistan, noting that a large number of people may be infected without realizing it.

Untreated hepatitis C can lead to liver cancer, and the minister stressed the importance of early detection and screening.

A standard hepatitis check-up normally costs around Rs. 7,000, but the government is offering the screening free of charge.

People aged 12 and above can get tested at government health centers in Islamabad, with the government willing to establish more centers in areas where they are currently unavailable.
