During a meeting with a delegation of industrialists and business leaders, PM Shehbaz discussed government measures to improve the economy and promote trade and industry.

The Prime Minister thanked the business community for their input during the budget-making process, noting that several of their recommendations were incorporated into the federal budget.

He highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to lower the cost of energy, a critical concern for businesses and industries.

Progress on the digitization of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) was also mentioned, with a significant portion of the process completed.

The FBR collected Rs. 800 billion through enforcement measures during the last financial year, indicating the government’s commitment to revenue collection.

The government is focusing on developing a skilled workforce to meet industry requirements, with plans to train one million people in IT and artificial intelligence.

Other government initiatives include reducing port charges and improving operational capacity, as well as upgrading the M-10 Motorway and developing the Pipri Freight Corridor.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the planned M-13 Kharian-Rawalpindi Motorway, which will reduce travel distance between Lahore and Islamabad.

Improvements to Pakistan Railways are also part of the government’s strategy to enhance transport infrastructure and facilitate faster movement of commercial goods.
