The meeting, chaired by Memon, who holds portfolios of Information, Transport and Mass Transit, was attended by key officials including the Sindh Secretary Transport, the CEO of Trans Karachi, and the Managing Director of the Sindh Mass Transit Authority.

Officials briefed the minister on the ongoing operation of the People’s Bus Service and plans to extend the service to other cities, with the Qambar-Shahdadkot to Larkana route expected to begin soon.

The minister directed officials to finalize arrangements for the arrival and operation of double-decker buses, emphasizing the need to launch bus services on new routes without delay.

The expansion of the People’s Bus Service to different cities, promotion of electric transport, and development of major BRT projects are part of the government’s broader transport policy, Memon said.

Additionally, the minister directed officials to accelerate work on BRT projects and ensure coordination among relevant institutions to avoid unnecessary delays.

The provincial government plans to distribute pink electric scooters among women in Mirpurkhas on September 5, 2026, to empower women and improve their access to essential activities.

Memon stated, 'The Sindh government is taking practical steps to develop a modern, safe and environment-friendly public transport system in the province.'
