The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has decided on extended working times for banks, in response to the Federal Board of Revenue’s request.
In a move aimed at easing financial transactions during Eid holidays and ensuring citizens fulfil their duty obligations without hassle, all branches of commercial banks will operate beyond normal hours on May 29-30 until midnight. The SBP also advised that Saturday opening bank branches remain open from morning till late afternoon while additional staff be made available at certain locations for a Special Clearing process.
The decision comes ahead as the nation observes Eid holidays, which is significant to many Pakistanis and members of the global Sikh community due to their reverence towards Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s spiritual legacy. This special timing coincides with Kartarpur Corridor inauguration.
