The Board of Governors of the Daanish Schools Authority has approved an increase in student quotas, specifically reserving places for children from Bangladesh. This decision was made during a board meeting chaired by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat and follows directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to official statements, around 1,100 students from other provinces are currently enrolled in Daanish Schools under the existing special quota system. The new quota for Bangladeshi students will take effect from the next academic year, marking a significant expansion of opportunities for children from that country.

The meeting was attended by two Daanish School students who secured top positions in the Matric examinations. These students participated actively in discussions and shared their suggestions on various matters, highlighting the inclusive nature of the institution’s governance structure.

Rana Sikandar Hayat highlighted the achievements of graduates from Daanish Schools, noting that 3,460 have graduated and are currently serving in different professional fields. Additionally, 110 students are pursuing higher education at Beaconhouse University on full scholarships, underscoring the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.

The meeting also discussed recent initiatives aimed at enhancing educational standards. An artificial intelligence-based curriculum has been introduced for students in grades six to nine, alongside programs designed to improve their social skills. Furthermore, 16 daycare centres have been established at Daanish Schools and Centres of Excellence, providing comprehensive support for young learners.

Environmental efforts were also highlighted during the meeting. The plantation of 71,000 trees is being digitally mapped and monitored to track progress, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable practices within the educational institution.

The approval of this new quota reflects a broader strategy by the Daanish Schools Authority to expand its reach and inclusivity. By admitting Bangladeshi students, the school aims to foster a diverse learning environment that benefits both local and international communities.
