PM Shehbaz Launches AI System to Track All Directives

PM Shehbaz Launches AI System to Track All Directives

Key Takeaways

  • Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has launched PMOS, an AI-based platform.
  • The system aims to improve coordination and efficiency in government operations.
  • PMOS records every directive from issuance to completion.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has unveiled a new Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based platform known as the Prime Minister’s Office System (PMOS). This digital tool is designed to track and monitor every directive issued by the premier, ensuring efficient communication and implementation across government ministries.

Speaking at the launch event, PM Sharif praised Information Technology Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja and the IT secretary for developing this platform. He emphasized that it would enhance coordination among various departments and make public service delivery more effective. The system is intended to replace conventional tracking methods with a more advanced AI-driven approach.

According to officials briefing the prime minister, PMOS represents Pakistan’s first government platform integrating artificial intelligence as a core component of decision-making and implementation monitoring. It functions by recording every directive issued by the prime minister along with its complete implementation trail, creating a permanent institutional record of government decisions.

Unlike traditional systems, PMOS uses AI to read, classify, and analyze directives rather than merely storing them. This feature allows for more accurate tracking and analysis, potentially leading to better policy outcomes. The platform also supports continuous policy calibration by helping the government make better use of technological, financial, and human resources.

The launch of PMOS is part of the federal government’s broader digital transformation agenda aimed at modernizing public administration and improving accountability. Pakistan has increasingly expanded the use of digital platforms for public services in recent years, with artificial intelligence being identified as a priority technology under its Digital Pakistan initiatives.

By introducing this AI-based platform at the Prime Minister’s Office, the government aims to test governance reforms at the highest level before gradually extending it across the federal administrative structure. This move is seen as a significant step towards streamlining and optimizing public service delivery in Pakistan.
