Lahore's Batapur police have arrested three officials of Sozo Water Park following the death of a nine-year-old girl who allegedly became trapped in a drainage pipe while the park was being drained. The incident occurred on Monday, leading to immediate action by local authorities.

According to the district administration spokesperson, the water park was sealed immediately after the tragic event and legal proceedings were initiated against the management for alleged negligence. A criminal case has been registered under Section 322 of the Pakistan Penal Code at Batapur Police Station.

In a statement, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran stated that an investigation was launched into the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine the extent of negligence and fix responsibility on those involved. He highlighted that no safety net had been installed over the drainage pipe, which contributed to the tragedy.

The investigation is focusing on whether the decision to start draining the pool while children were still inside was made and if mandatory safety measures around the drainage system were ignored. Kamran emphasized that strict action would be taken against those responsible for causing the girl's death.

Local residents expressed shock and concern over the incident, with many calling for stricter safety regulations in public facilities to prevent such tragedies from recurring. The district administration has assured that the victim’s family will receive justice and support during this difficult time.

Sozo Water Park remains sealed pending further investigation, and parents are advised to exercise caution when visiting similar facilities. Authorities have urged park administrators to ensure all safety protocols are strictly followed to protect children's well-being.
