The Suthra Punjab Authority (SPAL) has taken a significant step towards improving sanitation and hygiene in the provincial capital of Lahore, installing 200 smart waste bins in Journalists Colony. This initiative was spearheaded under the directives of Director General Babar Sahib Din.

According to SPAL officials, these smart waste bins are equipped with advanced features designed to facilitate efficient waste management. The bins will not only help in reducing litter but also contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable environment for residents and visitors alike.

Director General Babar Sahib Din stated, 'The installation of these smart waste bins is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of life in Lahore through better sanitation practices.' This initiative aligns with SPAL's broader cleanliness drive across the city.

Journalists Colony, a bustling area known for its media houses and residential complexes, will benefit significantly from this upgrade. The new waste bins are expected to reduce the amount of litter on the streets and improve overall hygiene standards in the locality.

Local residents expressed their satisfaction with the installation. One resident, Ayesha Khan, said, 'These smart bins will make a huge difference. We hope more such initiatives follow.' Another resident, Muhammad Ali, added, 'It’s about time we had better waste management systems in place.'

The move by SPAL is part of an ongoing campaign to address environmental concerns and promote cleaner cities. The installation of these smart waste bins is seen as a positive step towards achieving this goal.

Moving forward, SPAL plans to expand the initiative across other areas of Lahore, aiming to cover more than 100 locations in the coming months. This expansion will further enhance the city's cleanliness and contribute to its overall development.
