Gold prices fall in Pakistan as international market declines

Key Takeaways

  • Gold price per tola dropped by Rs3,800 in Pakistan.
  • International gold rate fell $38 to $4,073 per ounce.
  • Silver price also decreased by Rs123 to Rs6,339 per tola.

Gold prices in Pakistan experienced a significant decline on Monday, following the loss seen in the international market. According to rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), gold price per tola fell to Rs429,736 after dropping by Rs3,800 during the day.

The previous Saturday saw a different trend as gold prices rose by Rs1,100, reaching Rs433,536. However, this upward movement was short-lived, and the market quickly adjusted to the global downturn in precious metals trading.

International markets also reflected similar trends, with the price of gold declining by $38 per ounce to reach a new level of $4,073, including a premium of $20. This decline in international prices directly influenced local markets, leading to a reduction in the value of gold and silver sold in Pakistan.

Silver also saw a decrease, with its price falling by Rs123 per tola to reach Rs6,339. The APGJSA reported that this drop was consistent with global trends observed in precious metals trading.

The fluctuation in prices can impact various sectors of the economy, particularly those reliant on gold and silver for investment or jewelry production. Local traders and consumers are advised to monitor market movements closely as these changes could affect their financial decisions.

Experts suggest that such fluctuations may continue due to ongoing global economic conditions and geopolitical factors influencing commodity markets. The APGJSA recommends regular updates from reliable sources to stay informed about the latest trends in precious metals pricing.
