Kohat Cement Company Limited has issued a clarification regarding reports suggesting that the Peshawar High Court had ordered a halt to its 28.5 MW Coal Fired Power Plant Project (CFPP). In a disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company stated that such reports are incorrect and work on the project is continuing as per required approvals.

The clarification was issued in response to a news report published on July 10, 2026. According to Kohat Cement, the Peshawar High Court has not issued any order suspending construction or operations of the coal-fired power plant. The company emphasized that all work is proceeding in accordance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approvals.

In its statement, Kohat Cement highlighted that the court had directed the plant’s operations to remain subject to EPA approval. This directive was described as a standard legal requirement under Pakistan's environmental laws rather than a specific restriction on the project. The company reiterated its commitment to developing and operating the project in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and standard operating procedures issued by the competent authorities.

The company stated that this clarification is necessary to set the record straight regarding court proceedings related to the project. It emphasized that the project will continue to be developed and operated in accordance with all legal requirements. The disclosure was aimed at addressing any confusion or misinformation caused by previous reports.

Kohat Cement Company Limited, listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), is committed to ensuring transparency and clarity regarding its operations. The company’s ongoing efforts to comply with environmental regulations are part of its broader commitment to sustainable development in Pakistan.
